Obesity is one of the major problems in the world. But recently, people are becoming more self-conscious (or is that figure-conscious?). Here in Davao, there has been a boom in the fitness industry. Instructional aerobics classes, Body Weights Gym, Sports Courts and the like have continually been growing in number.
Personally, I did not have any problems with my weight or figure before. I was flaunting a 23-inch waistline which naturally came with my regular DanceSport training as a varsity and not-so-regular visits to the gym. I ate a lot and it did not add an inch to my size because of my active lifestyle.
But when I graduated from the university, my varsity life is over. Reviewing for the CPA Board Exam was a battle i fought with chips, junk food, and other similar yummy fattening goodies. My waistline turned from 23 inches something you don't want to know (alright, I'm not that big, but I'm currently sporting 29-inch jeans, hat's low-waist! lol!). My active lifestyle has dramatically faded and now I'm struggling on burning my excess fat.
The biggest transformation that I never thought would happen is in the case of Judy Ann Santos. I am not a Judy Ann fan but it really caught my attention that she has transformed from being chubby to really sexy. I commend her for that. And aside from doing her boxing, she also takes Fitrum, a product she endorses which she claimed to have helped her reduce fat.
I've tried products available on the market. My friends have introduced me to Ballerina, a herbal capsule probably from China, and it did deliver results. BUT, it is not approved by the Bureau of Food and Drugs, and I swear it will make you DUMB!
There's also Orlistat Xenical, available at drugstores and pharmacies, and it has promised fat loss in a few months. I did not try it because it's expensive (only about P50.00, but it's still expensive for me, hehe) but a friend I know has tried it and said it works. Fats are naturally expelled in feces. But the downside is that there are cases where users have uncontrollable bowel excretion and oily stools. Yuck!
Slimming teas are also the fad... There's Kancura and Kankunis, tea products with Senna powder which are said to help in losing weight. Some are happy with the product but some complained of diarrhea.
Juice drinks with L-Carnitine such as Del Monte's Fit n Right is one of the new products recently launched, and it just proves that people are really becoming conscious with their health and fitness.
From all the products mentioned above, nothing could beat EXERCISE. Besides, it is for FREE. You don't necessarily have to enroll yourself in a gym to exercise. You can jog, hop around, do your ab crunches and push-ups in the comforts of your home. Exercise is the most effective way of burning fat. I'll vouch for that. You just need to pack a good amount of determination and discipline to keep you going.
well.. umm.. yeah.. the real point is DISCIPLINE.. don't expect that your body will look great if you don't watch what you eat. have the discipline and have the want to look great. it begins with oursleves.... >, tama bah?!
ReplyDeletei want to try xenical, too, but it's so expensive. yeah, nothing beats exercise. pero maganda sana if you're taking something (like Fit n Right.. tama ba? :)) and exercising, para double ang effect. :)
ReplyDeletei do not believe in medical stuff to stay/be slim. Heavy breakfast, adequate lunch and a light meal for dinner just before the sun goes down.
